Extended Call for Submissions
The spring 2007 issue will highlight work related to the state of Black Literature and Black People in post Katrina US.
WarpLand is published annually by the Gwendolyn Brooks Center for Black Literature and Creative Writing at Chicago State University. WarpLand is committed to the study of black literature and ideas. The journal accepts visual art, essays, interviews, short fiction, poetry, and book reviews for publication. Work on subjects unrelated to the theme will also be accepted.
1. All manuscripts must be typed. For multiple page manuscripts the title of the work and page number must appear on each page.
2. Manuscripts may be emailed to gbc_warpland@yahoo.com in a Microsoft Word or WordPerfect file.
3. A cover letter must be included listing the titles of the submitted works and the author’s contact information.
4. All submitted material must include an e-mail address and additional contact information including a mailing address and phone number. Submissions without this information will not be considered.
5. Artwork should be e-mailed or submitted as prints or slides, along with a copy on disk in jpeg or gif format. Artwork does not need to be submitted in triplicate.
6. Friday December 15, 2006 is the deadline for consideration for this special extended call. Submissions received after that date will be considered for the following volume.
Please Do Not re-submit work from previous calls.
All work will be considered for the spring volume.
No phone calls will be accepted regarding submission status.
Submissions will not be accepted by fax transmission.
