Library Closing
I read this online today and it made my heart sink. When I was leaving Memphis, one of the libraries had pulled out of the countywide system and others were considering it. Now this:

Is this where we're headed? A country where reading and literacy and information is the last priority? The War in Iraq has sucked the life out of everything!!
I stumbled across this blog while Web-surfing. Please forgive my vuoyerism. I'm planning to apply to the Hurston/Wright Writer's Week 2007, The Advanced Novel, and I hope I can ask the nine of you some questions:
1. Your 50 page submission--were the pages chronological?
2. Did your submission include a novel synopsis?
3. Any secrets for impressing the judges?
